Windows 10: Difficulty choosing different languages for my PCs

Hi, I'm going straight to the point:

I have 2 PCs, one stable at home and a laptop. Because my master degree is told in English and because I'm becoming one with my laptop I decided I just wanted English language in it (OneNote works better if I don't have to tell it what language I want to use every time I write something), and I don't want any trace of my native language (Italian). Meanwhile on my tower PC I want both English and Italian, because it is used also by family.

The problem is that any time I try to set just the English language on my Laptop, Windows thinks I want only English even on my tower PC. And when I insert Italian language again on my tower PC, Windows thinks I want Italian even on my laptop.

Can someone help me?

Windows display language difficulties

1) Do you receive any error message, while trying to add English language?

2) What is the default language set on your computer?



I suggest you try below steps to add English language pack and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on Add language.
  
• 
  Add the English language from the given list.

Prevent language from automatically being changed

• Since Keyla has stopped working.
• Two.
• When I test if the language stays after switching between programs - I switch to a different program, then switch the language, then switch to the previous program.

The steps you suggested didn't work, as I don't want to remove any of the languages.

 

Cortana choosing speech language different than Country

But me it's a bit more complicated. That's my languages list in order.

- Country : Canada

- Languages :

• French (Canada) - Default : To get apps, lockscreen and date/hours in french (Edge is 1/2 french).
• French (France) - To get French Speech
• English (Canada) - To get English Canada Speech
• English (US) - For display (desktop, etc.)

- Cortana options :

• Can only choose English (Canada) for speech or it doesn't work. That's a bit weird, because it allow me to choose French (France) to speak in french with Cortana, but it doesn't work... It say me to choose a speech language in the settings lol.

I don't want to change my Country to France, because everything will be in Euro in the store... And that's sad, because french Canada could work with French (France) Cortana (before the release of french (Canada) Cortana).
