Difficulty connecting Surface Go2 connecting to router

I bought a new SurfaceGo2 for my partner. I cannot connect it to my router netgear DGN2200. The surface has Windows 10 Home I switched out of S mode

1 I have successfully connected to the internet and updated it using my phone as a hotspot

2 I have successfully connected to the internet using a friends router password entry I did this in Covid Secure way by standing outsider her house!!

3 I have tried turning the router off/on several times over several days and separately the Surface , using the on/off switch, and separately using restart

4 I have tried entering the WEP password 26 caracters which has worked for all other devices

5 I have tried WPS button push - the Surface says ... "Checking network requirements" "Connecting"... this goes on for quite a long time - then "Unable to connect to the network"

6 I have chosen to "forget" the network and tried again

6 We have 2 phones, a laptop, an amazon firestick, a kindle plus the old surface RT connected successfully to the router.

    Any ideas please?

    :)

Weird Router Stuff - Cannot Connect

I'm completely at a loss here.

In my house we connect through a router. This machine and two others are connected through it. However, for the life of me, I cannot get my laptop to connect to it. I've tried automatically finding the IP/DNS and specifying some IPs in the range given by the router manual, but to no avail.

If I specify the IPs, the connection shows as "Connected, 100mbps" but I can't access the Internet or (more worryingly) access the router at all. If I select automatically find IPs, as the router manual suggests, it doesn't work at all (I get a "limited or no connectivity" message).

What on earth is happening?? This is a new, fresh install of XP on the laptop so it can't be past connections causing a problem.

Help! *Frown Difficulty connecting Surface Go2 connecting to router :(

Getting a router to handle more connections?

I have a NETGEAR WNR3500 that seems to be experiencing a similar issue. When I play TF2 for a while (and refresh the master server list that shows maybe 3-4,000 servers), I simply cannot connect to any servers until I pull the power plug. TF2 works fine when connected directly to my apartment's Ethernet connection. It's almost as if the router (maybe the NAT table) overflows and refuses any more connections until the router is power cycled.
