  1. Difficulty playing videos from PC to TV using home network

I have Windows 10 with both a Desktop & a Laptop & a & Samsung smart TV. I am trying to play videos on the TV from the Desktop & also from the Laptop. I
I have tried 2 ways to cast videos to the TV. No success with the Laptop but success with the desktop on one of them.

    1. Using the "Cast to Device" feature in Explorer: .
When I cast with the Desktop it works fine. but When I cast from my Laptop the video goes through but there is as long connection time followed by long "reloading" pauses about every 10 sec or so so that it is worthless to use. Why can't the laptop cannot cast well to the TV?

    2 Using the Home Network
The manual with the TV specifies another way to play videos to the TV by connecting through the Home Network & using Windows Media Player "as long as the TV & PC laptop or desktop are connected to the same Router or AP. I don't know what AP stands for. I've had no luck at all trying to get WMP to play to the TV.
I spent a lot of time checking my network connections from sources I found on the Net I'm sure they are reliable but many are old & don't necessarily match what I see on my screen.
I would like to solve this problem. The instructions sound easy but the difficulty is always in the details.

    :)

    Hi Steve,

To assist you better, I like to know; how exactly you are trying to stream video from your PC to LG Smart TV?

As an initial step, I suggest you to try updating the display adapter on your system.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Click on the Start button, and type Device Manager on the search bar.
    • Open Device Manager, expand Display Adapters.
    • Find and double-click Display Adapters from the left panel to update.
    • Right-click the device, and click Update.

As you are able to play the video full screen in your PC, then it might be an issue related to LG Smart TV. I suggest you to check for the LG Smart TV manual and check what all settings need to done to play video in full screen.

Kindly reply to us, with the status of your issue. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

  3. Play video files on network smart TVs from a Windows 10 Desktop

    Hello infuriated Windows 10 users,

I have just bought a new desktop PC as my old machine would no longer start. Naturally the new computer runs under Windows 10. My old machine used Windows 7. I tried to stream videos using the method I have used in the part selecting Apps. on my
Panasonic TV changer, then selecting media player, then video, folder and video again. The smart TV then showed me a list of available computers and network drives. You then select the source and the smart TV then listed available videos. You selected the
video you wanted and hey presto it played provided Windows liked the video file type. This problem became worse when Windows stopped supporting Silverlight but still you were able to view a wide variety of video file types. This does not work under Windows
    10. My smart TV returned connection failed. I have looked at the set up on my new PC and can find nothing wrong. While nobody knows it all I am not entirely ignorant of these matters. I am an IT professional and member of BCS. I looked on the net and
found many complaints about this lack of functionality (horrible word but correct here) in Windows 10 and no helpful work around or Microsoft promise to fix the oversight. In Window 10 all you have to play video on a smart TV is to switch the set on set it
up as a network device and use cast to device to play a video from a PC file. There are several problems with this arrangement. Firstly desktop PCs and smart TVs are often not in the same room and arguably better that way. Secondly users say you can only
play one video file at a time, you cannot play a playlist of files and if you want to play another video file you have to go back to your PC to cast another video file. From the net posts I found no one has cum up with anything better as far as I could gather
quickly. I have only been looking at this problem for a day and not full time at that because I also needed to set up other thing on my new PC such as e-mail, MS Office, security and so on. I have however found a simple way to play multiple video files one
after another by selecting all or a proportion of files from a folder then selecting cast to device. The casting process then produces a list of files your smart TV will then play them all one after another without any further intervention. If you wish you
can skip over a file or files in the list, by moving the curser line and your smart TV will then play the next file after the curser line. I haven't tried this but I suspect you could also select files to play from multiple folders and multiple sources.
This should work because the list of cast files looks exactly the same as a list from a single folder. I hope this is helpful. Happy viewing.

Cast to Device Streaming (not mirroring) video avi & mp4 files from PC to Smart TV

    Hi,

Just to clarify, are your using Microsoft wireless display adapter?

You mentioned that the issue is intermittent. We need you to isolate on the device that connect to the TV. Perform the following steps:

    • Play the video or mp4 file on the PC only.
    • Check if the issue persists on the main monitor without the TV connected.
If the video play fine without error message, you need to test another wireless display adapter. If you don’t have a spare one, you can test the adapter on a friends TV.

Let us know how it goes.
