  2. What happens to the OEM digital entitlement of Windows 10 Home when you switch to Pro?

I recently bought a Dell laptop with an OEM digital entitlement to Windows 10 Home. I'd like to activate Windows 10 Pro* on it but I do not want to do that and waste the Windows 10 Home digital entitlement if it means losing the OEM digital entitlement to
    Windows 10 Home.

    Q. When I activate Windows 10 Pro, will the OEM digital entitlement to Windows 10 Home that's currently attached to the Dell disappear?

Or, will my laptop now have that OEM Windows 10 Home digital entitlement and a Windows 10 Pro license, likely tracked through my Microsoft Hotmail account?

I ask this question because I don't want to waste the Windows 10 Home license. Someday I will likely want to sell my laptop, and, for resale purposes there's little difference between Windows 10 Home and Pro so I'd rather be able to take the Windows 10 Pro
license with me to a new device and reactivate the OEM Windows 10 Home license.

*To be specific, I've taken my old laptop's SSD and dropped it in my new laptop. Now the Windows 10 Pro on it is not activated because the digital entitlement for the laptop is for Windows 10 Home.

  3. Windows 10 Ent Build 10586 Activation error Code:0xc004f014

Enterprise will ignore an OEM embedded Windows Core/Home or Pro key. I installed Enterprise on my laptop which has an 8.0 Core OEM embedded key. Once installed I did a change product key and entered my MSDN key. It then activated OK.

If you do a clean install with the 10586 Multi edition Home/Pro ISO, it will read and use OEM embedded keys. If I use that ISO on that same laptop with the 8.0 Core OEM key, 10 Home is installed automatically with no option to select Home or Pro. No prompt
for a key either. It activates with a digital entitlement too. That same laptop was running 10 Pro 10240 with a digital entitlement before the clean install of 10586. To get pro back I did a change key and entered the Pro generic key. VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
It then upgraded to Pro and rebooted. I checked activation and it was then activated with its original digital entitlement. This will only work if that PC has a digital entitlement for Pro. If it doesn't, it will upgrade but not activate.

If you want to skip installing Home and having to upgrade, add a PID.txt file to the sources folder with the Pro generic key above in it. It will override the embedded key and install Pro. No prompt for a key either. If that PC had a digital entitlement
for pro it will activate just fine. This is how I do my installs on my PC's here at home. They all have digital entitlements for 10 Pro.

OEM licenses are not normally transferable except for some exemptions in countries were laws say otherwise, like Germany for instance. There are some instances were you have to contact MS for permission but that's mostly in case were you are replacing existing MB with identical one because of RMA or because of changing it yourself with identical one .
