    Digital ID(Owner) being applied to MP3's


    Was looking at the properties/Details of some mp3's and noticed that Windows assigns Digital ID(Owner) to every one of them. This ID or fingerprint is specific to each computer and is persistent across devices.

    Is this a "feature" that can be stopped and when did Microsoft start this tracking?

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Old Owner Name

    I bought a used Axim. I changed the Device ID in Settings -> System ->

    About. I changed the owner name in Settings -> Personal -> Owner Info.

    But when I use Send To on a Windows 7 "desktop", the option for my

    Axim lists the old owner's name. Not a major problem, but definitely

    annoying. I couldn't find that name in the registry (on the Axim).

    Can anyone suggest another place to look?

    SuSe 10.2 MP3 support ?'s

    I can help here... but only via a site where I found this before. I can't even remember the site, but search in Google for "Hacking SUSE 10.2"

    The first site that pops up will list the steps necessary to add MP3 support(and other plug-ins and DVD support) to SUSE.
