Windows 10: Digital tv to analog reciever and speakers ?

I have had no problem for a couple of years with my Samsung digital TV sending sound to my old Yamaha analog reciever using a Techhole Digital to Analog Audio Converter 192KHz DAC but about a week or two ago my tv screen went totally white. I tested the speakers and picture using the TV remote and the problem of no sound or picture was still there after the stock pictrure showed and the sound played but through the tv speaker not the reciever and analog speakers like it had been for a couple of years. I did get a message I think saying the connection was not legitimate or something like that

Sound comes out of laptop instead of TV when viewing a DVD

Sorry everyone, I forgot to come back to say I solved the issue! I did it like this:

• Right-click speaker icon in the tray
• Click on "Sounds"
• Go go to the "Playback" tab"

There are two speaker devices listed:

1. Digital Output (with a TV icon)
2. Speaker/HP (my laptop speakers)

I disabled Speaker/HP, and then Digital Output automatically took over, which made the sound come out of the TV. Problem solved! Thanks for the suggestions and advice that helped steer me in that direction. *Thumbs

 

digital and analog???

the computer keeps switching from digital to analog automaticaly, and its annoying because when it does that, the screen is all black and not responsive. i checked, it isnt malware.

All the video output on the 5xxx series are digital no more analog

You could always find an adapter DVI to Analog (not VGA) but i'm pretty it doesn't exist?

Time for a new TV with HDMI or DVI connection...*Wink
