Windows 10: Directing data to a second drive

    Directing data to a second drive


    I have a laptop running windows 10 pro, which has a 260g ssd and a 1t hard drive.

    All programs and data reside on the SSD., which is nearly full.

    How do I direct data to the other drive?

    Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown Directing data to a second drive :(
    I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
    I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics.     Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

    This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:

    Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

    Suggestions on how to fix this?
