Windows 10: DirectX 11 Problems Windows 10 Pro Build 1909

I have a DX12 but DX11 games have a black screen on launch. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Resistance and Resident Evil 7 have a Fatal Application Exit after launching. When changing their config.ini target from DX11 to DX12, it fixes Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance but it won't fix Resident Evil 7 'coz it reverts back to target DX11 on its config.ini. Same goes for my Mega Man 11. Black screen on startup but it plays the audio and I think I could click on something 'coz I hear the clicking sounds in game while having a black screen. PSX and PS2 emulators having the same case but changing their plugin to DX9 and it fixes the black screen. Also my Android emulators, Gameloop and MEmu when the loading finishes to launch the emulator, the screen goes transparent because its only options are DirectX and OpenGL which doesn't work and I don't know why. I search Google for the Fatal Application Exit HRESULT=0x08876017c for my said Resident Evil games and the issue was about "DDERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY DirectDraw does not have enough display memory to perform the operation." Previously, this didn't occurred to me before I clean installed my laptop. Drivers immediately updates through Windows Update after boot. Except for my NVIDIA which I had to install it through their website then I had to reinstalled my NVIDIA Drivers using DDU on safe mode.

Hi Paul,

One of the possible reasons why you can't use Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 is due to hardware conflicts or software incompatibility with Windows 10. To help you with your concern, we suggest you re-install the latest version of DirectX. The steps are found
on this
article or you may also try the troubleshooting steps suggested by Jesrael Bor from the earlier post. Some of the community members found his answer helpful.

We would appreciate an update about how it went.

 

Problem with games and DirectX in Windows 10

Hello Mr. Felix,

I ran into a problem with DirectX 11 and found it by running Passmark 9. I haven't run any games except Microsoft Solitaire Collection, so don't know about specific games.

Am still working on this computer as far as updates hardware and software. Have learned just today that there are many others with issues with DirectX 11 and below running in the latest Win 10 pre-release so there may be a problem with your OS. Seems to
have gotten worse perhaps. That's on windows 10 pro insider preview evaluation copy. build 15019.rs_prerelease.170121-1513 partition, while the other is windows 10 pro ver 1607 (build 14393.693) and runs fine and fast.

Would recommend downloading and running Passmark 9 as a tool to prove/or disprove your system.

Mine would not run DirectX 11 at all, and was quite slow and choppy running DirectX 9 and 10.

DirectX 11

I want to download a game from the windows store called Minecraft: story mode. It says I cannot download the game because I need directX 11. How can I download directX 11?
