    DirectX 12 using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter even though 3D card is present


    Hi,I have an issue with Directx 12: All 3D-applications run terribly slow. Checking dxdiag, I can see that DirectX 12 is using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter as Display Device, even though I have a Nvidia RTX A5000 Laptop GPU installed. The card shows correctly in the Device Manager and I installed the most recent drivers from Nvidia website, but nothing changed. DirectX 12 is still using the Basic Display Adapter.How can I change this?Any help is appreciated!

    VGN-FS570, clean install from xp to win 10 having a problem the graphic display, only seeing microsoft basic display adapter, not getting the full screen of the display, cannot change the adapter, tried
    to install adapter, not supported by your device

    the problem is cannot change microsoft basic display adapter, not getting full screen on display, also seeing a yellow arrow on the adapter in device manager, was able to get full screen when using win xp. how do i fix this problem,
    I have tried numerous technique without success

    Microsoft Basic Display Adapter doesn't go away.

    Is the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed alongside your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti card in the Display Adapters section?

    If so, that would mean you also have on-board graphics as well as your Nvidia card and there is no driver loaded for that device

    In Device Manager, expand out the Processors section, what is the exact model of Processor listed there?

    DirectX 12 using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter even though 3D card is present

    Need a Video Card that supports DirectX 12

    I am running Win10 Insider Preview!
    There is Pre Release 3D program.
    When it starts it checks to see if you computer can run the 3D program!
    Mine passes all the requirements except DirectX 12.

    I tried searching all video cards but none mentions if it supports DirectX 12!

    I need help in finding a Video card that supports DirectX 12 or am I on the wrong path for DirectX 12?
