Windows 10: DirectX 9 installation is missing for Windows 10 1.2021

in reply there is a suggestion to download DirectX End-User Runtime, a link which was broken lately - it simply disappeared.


According to Microsoft forums - DirectX 9 support for Windows 10 was not planned to be dropped - according to these links:

Question 1: Was DirectX installation removal intentional ?


I by myself have also DirectX installation, which was removed from Microsoft site, so I thought that I could simply share my own installation via choco package manager. I've created a pull request to choco:

However - package maintainers asked following issues from me about DirectX eula maintenance:


the executable embedded in the package is not explicitly stated in the license, it only states 'redistributable code', without explicit consent from the software vendor, it's not allowed to include those artifacts in a package.

At this point I don't know the path forward unless you have a contact at Microsoft that can OK including this package. I asked the moderator for further advice on how to proceed as well.


Question 2: Can someone from Microsoft site give me official permission to redistribute 'directx_Jun2010_redist.exe' further via choco package manager ?

Directx 9 missing?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

DirectX 9

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 that came with Windows 10, but the hard drive failed and it was replaced with another hard drive with Windows 10 on it, too. I tried installing GMod off of Steam, and it says it's missing a .dll file that has to do with DirectX
9. I tried fully reinstalling DirectX 9, but I can't install it on Windows 10. It says that it can only run on up to Windows 7 or XP.

Is there anyone who could help me with this on here or should I ask this again on Steam?
