  1. DirectX DDI Changing after restart

I've been figuring out how this had happened and decided to do some research and none have a conclusion.1 I have fully updated GPU drives2 I have done an uninstall for GPU3 I repaired all Visual C++ redistributable & Updated 4 Checked For UpdatesThe Direct3D DDI has shifted from 12 to 9Ex and Feature Levels have disappeared after a few minutes. And DirectDraw Acceleration and AGP Texture Acceleration are not available, and DirectX12 is disabledI don't know why this happens.I have a AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16 Core-Processor 32 CPUs, ~3.7GHz and Radeon RX 7900 XTX If needed.

    :)

  3. DirectX 11 but the DDI is 10

The Op's machine is a laptop, the i3 M380 is a mobile processor circa September 2010

    Intel i3 M380

Upgrading isn't going to be an option.

    Quite right.

Being of its age thats understandable.

    Question ( 1 )

Did you go to the Laptops Manufacturers Site to install the latest Driver for your Laptops Graphics which would have been the first stop.

I suspect thats what you have already done from your post.

May also be worth going to the Intel Site and see if they have any Drivers listed for their i3 M380 in relations to its Graphics Core Side.

I doubt that a BIOS Upgrade from the Laptops Manufacturers Site would list anythingin regards to this as the Graphics Core is related to the CPU itself.

You could check this via the Manufacturers Site to see if there are any later BIOS Upgrades for your Laptop and see if they have a listing as to what it may Update @ or fix.

( NOTE ) : BIOS Upgrades / Updates done the wrong way and if not needed can cause more issues and even fail the computer from booting all togeather.

    Question ( 2 )

Are you experiencing any issues with any particular Software ???

Going by the snapshots all seems to be working fine in the Acceleration Modes.

( a ) : It should not really affect anything apart from Games and Graphics Software that may require a higher DDI Version / Direct X.

( b ) : If everything is working fine i would continue to operate it as it is.

Below is some information on the Processors Graphics Core Side thanks to CPU World.

Notes on Intel Core i3-380M (BGA)

    • Graphics and memory controllers are located on a separate die, which is manufactured on 0.045 micron technology
    • The CPU is compatible with Shader Model 4, along with DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 2.1 APIs. OpenCL API is not supported.
    • The graphics unit has the following software features enabled: Intel Clear Video HD technology.

    Overall Suggestion.

If all is working fine continue operating it as usuall.

    DirectX DDI Changing after restart

Dxdiag incorrectly reports DirectX 11 devices as DDI 10.1 when using Win 7

Was the DDI suppose to change..? Mine's still 10.1 even after restart :s
