  3. Error while installing Directx runtime

Hi, my name is Kelly, and I'm an independent consultant and I'm here to help.

Based on the error logs you provided, it appears that the DirectX web installer is failing to download and install the necessary components for DirectX runtime.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check your internet connection: Make sure you have a stable and fast internet connection as the web installer needs to download the DirectX components from Microsoft servers.

Temporarily disable your antivirus: Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with the installation process. Try disabling your antivirus temporarily and run the installer again.

Download the standalone DirectX End-User Runtime: You can try downloading and installing the DirectX End-User Runtime directly from Microsoft's website. Here is the download link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/detail...

Install DirectX manually: If the above steps don't work, you can try manually installing DirectX by downloading the DirectX software development kit (SDK) from Microsoft's website. Here is the download link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/detail...

After downloading the SDK, run the setup file and choose the option to install the "DirectX End-User Runtimes". This should install the necessary components for DirectX runtime.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue.

  4. DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer - internal error during installation

DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer failing to Install/Download (SOLVED)

    Hello,

I just installed Rome 2: Total war and Shogun 2: Total war on my windows 10 computer and found an error that consisted of them both not starting when I selected the play button (It would just say play for about 3 seconds then stop). After searching the games files and verifying their integrity, I now believe it is caused by the DIRECTX END-USER RUNTIME not able to be installed in order for the games to work. After searching everywhere for solutions I attempted most of them with still no luck, so far, I have tried:

    • Repairing the .NET Framework
    • Extracting files from system32 and sysWOW64 (I put them back when i found out it didn't work)
    • Running file scans through CMD
    • Turning on and off the .NET framework
    • Installing/enabling legacy components in windows functions and settings
    • Going back to windows 7 (REALLY DID NOT WORK)
    • Reinstalling drivers and making sure they're up to date

The error message I get when I try to install the DirectX End-User:

    An internal system error occurred.

Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows

    folder to determine the problem.

The error message I get when I try to re-download DirectX End-User (There is an installation kit inside the game files)

    Error creating process <C:\Users\Reference X\AppData\Local\Temp\XP000.TMP\dxwstup.exe>. Reason: INDOWS\system32\advpack.dll

My computer has windows 10, DX12, a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor, and 16GB ram. I am extremely sure that the cause of this problem is specifically the Directx end-user runtime installer since most other DirectX installers work perfectly fine on my computer (like DX9). I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now and would appreciate any help.
