Windows 10: DirectX install failing when launching new game, manual installation fails, error reported...

Doom eternal fails to start at all with no error message, but there is a install DirectX step which runs and probably fails. At least one other game does not render properly black screen which is making me believe there is some issue with my directX install. DirectX web installer fails to install on Windows 10

Hi all,

Had to a clean install of Win10 , no issues until installing a few games on Steam and Origin, Some games have worked and installed fine, others have not, The Common installs supplied with these games fail. some will launch, but without sound, some don't
start with an error saying missing DX.dll files or similar, Some just do nothing and without even notifying me of anything wrong. (Blank face at screen time when I find myself wondering if I had started it, or didn't quite double click play right). ~So trying
many re-installs, forum suggestions from deleting parts of the DirectX install files to killing it with fire, I know its a DirectX issue, so I thought. Microsoft... Forum.... help. I downloaded the directX web installer (dxwebsetup.exe) I launched as admin
and install starts then it fails. So someone, be nice, sort this for me.

but when i launch the game, it still automatically try to install DirectX and fail to install and launch

I am trying Eagle 51's suggestions now. Windows Update troubleshooter found a bunch of errors and fixed all but one.The update is trying to download KB4025339 again. I'll see what happens. At step one troubleshooter finishes with one error unresolved "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected-Not Fixed". Windows update stalled at 0%.

At step 2 same troubleshooter error. The KB finished a new download failed to install.
Did step 3 KB has downloaded but fails to install.

If Eagle's suggestion doesn't work I'll try EdTittel's suggestion

Tried bothe Eagle & Ed 's suggestions - do not work. Anyone else?

I have noticed that the latest update for my nvidia drivers has failed to update. Wondering about that!
