    Hi!

Disclaimer, this isn't actually a question but an answer to a question has been asked before however with no answers that have solved my issue.

It seems the latest version of windows 10 won't allow me to install directx 11 using the regular installer from windows. It says "DirectX will not install because cryptographic services are enabled and file certificate is valid" however after going through all the answers on the forum and even reinstalling windows I still couldn't install direct x.

It turns out there are plenty of people out there with the same problem, and after a quick search in google, the installer from this drive link finally allowed me to install directx 11, and thus allowed me to play older games such as the total war series.

Do check it out if you're having difficulties with directx11: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B957Nr7wnrB7d2RRbVZDVkFEczg/view

    Cheers!

  2. Cannot run game in Windows: Possibly a problem with DirectX or Cryptographic Services/Cabinet File?

    Hi,

I can't run Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 1, 2 and 3 on Windows 10 after the upgrade. When I launch the application, I get the error message that says:

The program can't start because d3dx9_34.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

Some articles suggested this was a problem with DirectX and I had to install DirectX August 2010 distribution. I downloaded it but during the installation, I got this message:

A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.

    What might be the solution?

  3. DirectX V9.29.1974 and AMD GPU drivers won't install

Hi, I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. I love Windows 10 so far, but there's one MAJOR problem I'm experiencing. I can't install DirectX or my AMD Radeon HD 6xxx Series PCIe.

When I try to install DirectX, I get this error:

"A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid."

I tried to look up a solution to THAT error but when I opened up Command Prompt in Administrator mode, I got a lot of errors and some pop-ups saying that it succeeded. The Cryptographic service is on as well. I checked task manger and the services program
    from the administrator tools.

The link to the DirectX I'm trying to install is here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Now onto the AMD Drivers. When I try to install the GPU drivers for the AMD card, AMD Catalyst AutoDetect only says there were error messages and that I need to view the log to see them. When I opened the log, this is what came up.

Any help on this would be very helpful as this is my gaming computer and both DirectX AND the GPU drivers are SUPER important to gaming.

My computer specs are as follows:

    • 8GB RAM
    • 500GB HDD
    • AMD Radeon HD 6950
    • Intel i5 3.5GHz

DirectX V9.29.1974 and AMD GPU drivers won't install

Hello again, I was able to fix this but not in the way you said. I refreshed Windows 10 so it can reinstall the Cryptographic Service. I guessed the service was corrupt so I just decided to refresh it and now I have all my drivers and DirectX all installed
    without a single problem!
