So, I make some peripheral use of onedrive. It is vaguely useful for a few key documents which I like to have synced and to know I will have on my next machine. Fine and dandy I think, good stuff.HOWEVER what I also do a lot of is gaming, and many games like to create their savegame folders in the my documents area. Which, thanks to one drive is now a one drive folder.These game saves can be significant in size, and MUST be in the location the game thinks they should be, which sometimes MUST be my documents. Moving them does not work, as the game will no longer be able to find your saves. Some

OneDrive - Can't stop syncing folder - Unsync a sub folder under Documents?

Unfortunately there's no way to select folders within Documents folder to sync or unsync.

Are you actually in OneDrive Settings > Accounts tab > Choose folders? The list of folders you see here is not for choose what to sync FROM your computer to the cloud. Rather, it is the opposition. It is to choose what's already in the cloud to sync TO your local computer. Since this documents > sub folder is already on your computer, you cannot uncheck in this settings.

Your alternative is to unsync the entire Documents folder. Which can be done via Settings > Sync & Backup tab > Manage Backup. Turn off the Documents folder. However, future files you save to Documents folder won't save to OneDrive. You have to manually save those files to the OneDrive folder instead of Documents folder.

If your Documents folder is being Synced to OneDrive, your only option to stop that sub-folder from being synced to OneDrive is to move that sub-folder out of your Documents folder to another location, so it is not included in the sync list . . .
