Windows 10: Disable/Enable flash drive?

So occasionally when I try to correctly remove my USB/flash stick drives from my pc, I get an error message saying "the device is currently in use" though I have no idea how and to "close any programs using it." I try closing my file folders if open and that doesn't help. The thing that fixes it is logging out of my user name/account- I don't need to even restart my pc, but just log out of my account and then log back in and I can then safely eject the drive.I always have Task Manager open so I can keep an eye on things. The only programs I have open are ones Microsoft already installed. Thi

Files keep getting corrupted on my flash drive

I would suggest you to enable "Better Performance" on the flash driver from the Device manager. Follow the steps below:

• Open Device Manager (Press Windows key + letter 'X' and choose Device Manager).
• Expand Disk Drives.
• Right click on the flash drive and choose "Properties."
• Under the Policies tab, choose "Better Performance" and Apply changes.
• Restart the computer and check the issue status.

CD to flash drive

Hi Pam,

There are several ways to copy your pictures from the CD to the Flash drive. One of which is by using the shortcut keys to copy and paste it.

We suggest following the steps below:

• Insert the CD and flash drive to your PC.
  
• Use Cortana and type File Explorer then click it.
• Choose This PC.
• Open the CD drive.
• If all the pictures are in a specific folder, press Ctrl + A
  on your keyboard to automatically choose all the pictures then, press Ctrl + C to copy it.
• Afterwards, Open the Flash drive, choose the location where you want to copy the pictures then press
  Ctrl + V to paste it.
