To guide you in right direction we want to know:

• Do you get any error while downloading?
• You face this issue with particular App or all the App?

Please follow the methods mentioned below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest that you reset the Windows Store cache as per the below mentioned steps and check:

• 
  Press Windows key and R key together
  to open the Run Window.
  
• 
  Type wsreset.exe and press Enter key for the command to execute.
  

Method 2:

You may try to run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X.
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  On the left pane, click on View All.
  
• Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.

I finally got the NOOK app to work on my Dell 2 in 1.

The problem seems to be related to the Windows task bar auto-hiding setting.

The steps I took:

1) Make sure NOOK is not running.

2) While in laptop mode, right click on the task bar and click properties. Make sure "Auto-hide the taskbar" is checked.

3) Put the laptop into tablet mode. It only works correctly in tablet mode.

4) Run the NOOK app. The books display correctly now.

You must start the NOOK app while in tablet mode. If you go back and forth between tablet and laptop mode then you have to restart the NOOK app while in tablet mode or it won't display correctly.

I suggest you to check for app update in Windows Store. If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall
Nook App.
