Disable Kernel's attempt to capture TPM during boot.

I have an ancient MB that does not have TMP, and it is confirmed to be disabled in the system viatpm.msc however, during the boot kernel still tried to capture the control of TPM and, obviously, fails. Why does it do it if it is disabled? Is there any way to force it NEVER do that?

Kerbel-Boot\Operational: Windows boot environment failed to initialize TPM device. StatusCode: 0xC0000002, Position: 1.

Kerbel-Boot\Operational: Measured Boot library encountered a failure and entered insecure state. InitState: 1, StatusCode: 0xC0000001, Failure Address: 0x9FDB2B, Reference Address: 0xB0FC20, Reason: 1.

BitLocker Setup- How Do I Disable the TPM and Use a Password Instead?

I would like to enable BitLocker on my laptop, which has a TPM. However, I want to use a password instead of the TPM to decrypt the drive during pre-boot.

I've tried disabling the TPM (using 'tpm.msc') and then enabling "Require additional authentication at startup" within the Group Policy Editor, but those steps didn't work.

How can I disable the TPM and use a password instead? Alternatively, how can I keep the TPM enabled but also require a password (not a PIN) during pre-boot?

    Thanks!

  3. TPM update

Don't know if this is the right place for this thread but whatever, laptop informed me that " a firmware update is needed for you security processor (TPM)," now, i looked up what to do and from a microsoft support thing, the last step says to clear the tpm. it has a warning saying to back up my data, i would like to know what clearing the tpm does, and what measures i need to take to make sure nothing goes wrong.

  4. Disable Kernel's attempt to capture TPM during boot.

Attempted to do a Clean Boot but forgot to Hide Microsoft Services

    Interesting scenario . . .

    Try this:

    • Reboot.
    • Turn the machine off with the power button when the spinning circle appears.
    • Repeat this exercise two more times.
    • Reboot. You will now get the boot menu.
    • Boot into Safe Mode and undo the fatal step. Alternatively you could use System Restore.
