Windows 10: Disable module installer permanently?

    Disable module installer permanently?


    I updated Windows and now the module installer, which was always a problem, is now firing off every 5-10 minutes and ruining my computer. It's constantly crashing things or freezing from it. Is there a way to actually disable it permanently? I'd done it before but it restarted itself not from an update, which is really annoying let me control my computer

    How do I PERMANENTLY disable Window Ink for Windows 10 Pro 1803

    I tried it, and after restarting the changes I made to these services persisted, but the "Use Windows Ink" box checked itself again... I tried unchecking it and restarting again for a double check, no effect :/

    Still, thanks for the suggestion.

    How do I PERMANENTLY disable Window Ink for Windows 10 Pro 1803

    This should disable automatic updates permanently:

    1. Stop & disable the Windows Update service.
    2. Stop & disable the Windows Modules Installer service.
    3. Reboot.
    4. Check if these two services are still disabled.
    Warning: Disabling these services will prevent you from getting virus pattern file updates.

    Windows Modules Installer listed in System Restore points

    It seems, you can disable it in CCleaner, also. . . worked for me, anaway. ✔
