Windows 10: Disable periodic Defender scanning when using battery

How can I permanently disable the periodic virus scanning of Windows Defender when powered by battery? I'm using Windows 10 22H2. Such scans are becoming increasingly frequent on my laptop sometimes observed multiple times a day, and often take place when power supply is not available, which can drain much more power than my foreground applications, significantly shortening my battery life.I have tried disabling the Windows Defender Scheduled Scan task schedule as one topic advised but no use. MsMpEng.exe seems not following the task schedule at all. Even if I manually stopped scanning afte

Defender Periodic Scanning or Offline Scanning?

That link does suggest it's useful to use Defender offline scanning in addition to periodic scanning and a third party real time anti virus (e.g. Kaspersky).

I use Kaspersky antivirus plus periodic scanning by Defender to benefit from US & Russian security technologies.

I spotted there is a Defender option for offline scanning. Is there any advantage in using this compared to the periodic scanning option?

Scenario...I manually run Scans daily on my computer.

I got sick and tired of having the occasional notification from Defender...oh we wasted your system resources and scanned your computer 14 times.

So thru Task Scheduler I turned off periodic scanning. Thru notifications I disabled notifications from Defender.

Ok all was running well with no pop ups from Defender.

Yesterday I got a pop up from Defender that my system had been scanned 15 times. ( I had run a full system scan not 2 hours prior)

I checked all my settings and they were all still disabled.

Does Anyone know how to stop Defender for good on doing it's unnecessary scans? (without uninstalling it?)
