    I have an older computer with a chip on the motherboard that is failing. Geek Squad said the power management is failing and thus a single beep every 15 seconds or more. I know the laptop is just going to fail and it is not worth fixing. Not really worried about it as all my files are on the cloud. However, I would like to disable the sound which I have tried in System Sound Settings. I have tried looking for default beep and it is not there, I have tried articles online say search registry or bios with no luck. It would seem the system beep is not included in any sound setting on this model. I have the latest updates for windows 10 and device manager has no errors. I know where the beep is coming from and why I just want to get rid of it. Please advise. By the way, it will silence if I set the sound to mute but then I cannot listen to video or sound content which I need to do for work. The beep is driving my colleagues crazy. ...and no, buying a new computer is not an option for me at the moment. I work at a nonprofit and have donated this computer. I am stuck with it until funds can be raised for a new one.

    How to disable System Beep in Windows 10 on charger connect/disconnect


    My Acer nitro 5 laptop makes annoying beep sound upon charger switch on/off. How can i disable it ? I couldn't find it in BIOS settings.

    The device manager doesn't list any system beep option either that I can switch on or off.

    I tried the registry method given on the following link.

    I set the value to no from yes of this beep key located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound.

    Still no resolution. The command prompt method doesn't work either.

    Please help.

    Disable beep sound when plugging/unplugging laptop charger

    My laptop makes an annoying beep sound whenever I plug or unplug the charger.

    Windows 8.1/Windows 10:

    Disable the System Speaker device:

    1. Open "Device Manager".
    2. Scroll down to "System Devices".
    3. Click on "+"
    4. Right click on "System Speaker".
    5. Select "Disable"
    6. Restart your computer.

    Beep should be permanently disabled.

    Windows 7:

    Disable the Beep device:

    How to disable System Beep in Windows 10 on charger connect/disconnect


    I have an Acer Aspire One. It too beeps when the charger is connected/disconnected. It does it even when in the BIOS settings so has nothing to do with Windows. There is no BIOS setting to disable it, so I just have to put up with it. Just seems to be the way Acer like to do things *Sad
