Windows 10: Disable UAC prompt per-program. (Without shortcut workarounds).

I can't seem to find any obvious or official way to disable UAC prompts per-program.

I use VNC for work almost daily and those prompts just lock you right out with no recourse. Worse still is that the window doesn't always focus by default so you can't always shuffle the selection over with the arrow keys.


So far, all I've found is.:

Throw caution to the wind and just disable UAC entirely.

-this isn't really an option.

Create a shortcut via the scheduler
-hardly seems like it would be *the* official/sanctioned/correct way. It's also incredibly tedious, and kills any sort of workflow because:
A- You can't touch those windows via VNC, at all
B- it's not quite as elegant as just hitting winkey+r and typing "regedit" or "photoshop" or whatever you're actually looking for.

Doing something like runas /user:Administrator regedit
-In this case you either need to set an Administrator password (which makes everything else annoying) or you cant use it due to the blank password policy restriction.

I know third party programs exist, but if there's a cleaner solution, any info would be very much appreciated.

Grant a specific application permanent UAC permission

Hello jaksps,

In line with your concern, User Account Control doesn't have a "allowed-or-blocked" list and disabling the User Account Control involves security risks. Though, there is a workaround to run a program without UAC prompt using Task Scheduler. I'd recommend
performing the steps suggested by SpiritX MS MVP in this
thread.

Thank for your help. That looks to be an interesting work around.

The real fix is to have software that is compliant with new standards. The program Speedfan is capable of running without the prompts so I wonder what the differences are. Can you tell me is this to do with the version of compiler the program is compiled with ?
