Can't enable SLI

Perform the steps mentioned below to enable SLI in NVIDIA Control panel.

a: Right-click anywhere on your
desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel from the dropdown list or click the NVIDIA icon in the Systray.

b: Once you've opened the NVIDIA Control Panel, click the
Set SLI configuration link under the 3D settings menu.

c: Finally, select either Do not use SLI technology or
Enable SLI technology (recommended) to toggle SLI on or off.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

 

Windows 10 and NVidia GeForce SLI Alternate Frame Rendering

I've never bothered with SLI, so can't comment on details, but...

Is SLI working normally on other games ?

- If so - Fable Legends Closed Beta - would be the most likely source of the issue. Using anything BETA is asking

for trouble, or asking to be part of the troubleshooting 'experience'.

Nvidia may not have released an SLI profile for the game yet. I've noticed they often don't release an

SLI profile until the next driver after the games final release.

It gets more complicated. SLI laptops being rare, I don't know if the same applies as with laptops using

a single gpu.

But with laptop gpu's it is generally recommended (on the Nvidia driver page as well) to use the drivers released

by the mfg of the laptop, or possibly suffer performance issues.

So if you are using Nvidia's 'generic' driver, that could cause issues.

- Rather than using the cpu for PhysX you may do better to disable PhysX in the games graphics options

while troubleshooting your problem.

I believe that most games that use Nvidia PhysX tend to loose fps when using the cpu. I've only tried it once,

with Batman-AA, and the impact on fps was big.

[ EDIT: Missed something in your block of text - Flickering lighting effects is sometimes caused by using

Anti-aliasing. Try using FXAA, or if the game has it, TXAA. ]

btw -"NVidia or GeForce"

GeForce is just the name Nvidia give to their gaming gpu's (Quadro , for Workstation gpu's).
