    Title, please help!

    1. I have gone into registry and disabled it there
    2. I have tried disabling it through command prompt
    3. I have gone into "virus and threat protection" on the windows security settings and disabled it there.

Someone mentioned that you need to have another security for it to disable, so that's why i downloaded another one.

    I downloaded AVG for reference.

  2. Can't disable Windows Antimalware Service Executable

Internet-connected PCs require continuous real-time AV/Antimalware protection in order to keep you safe from online threats, and that’s why Windows Defender is installed and enabled by default in Windows 10. If you’re not happy with Windows Defender
for any reason whatsoever, then all you have to do is install another free AV app – and Windows Defender will automatically be disabled by the OS as soon as the new AV app registers itself with the system as an antivirus provider. Then if you uninstall the
third-party AV app, Windows Defender will automatically be enabled so that no lapse in your AV/Antimalware protection ever occurs.

If you’re not happy with Defender for any reason at all, then follow the steps in this thread to replace it with another free AV app:

How to stop Antimalware Service Executable from hogging cpu on Windows 10

Once you’ve installed another AV app, you’ll have the option to turn on Limited Periodic Scanning – and that will allow Windows Defender to run right alongside your new AV app with its real-time protection turned off – so that it doesn’t interfere
with the new app. Limited Periodic Scanning allows you to run any kind of on-demand scan, including Windows Defender Offline and Command Line Interface scans. However, this mode won't allow you to turn on real-time protection or Controlled Folder Access.

Enable the limited periodic Windows Defender Antivirus scanning feature - Windows security

Here’s another great compatibility feature that’s built into Windows 10:

Automatic disabled mode is enabled so that if the protection offered by a third-party antivirus product goes out of date, is not updated, or stops providing real-time protection from viruses, malware, and other threats, Windows Defender AV will
automatically enable itself to ensure antivirus protection is maintained on the endpoint.

Windows Defender Antivirus compatibility with other security products - Windows security

When this feature is working correctly, Windows Defender will automatically be activated as soon as you disable the real-time protection of your third-party AV app; and then it will be automatically disabled again as soon as you turn the third-party
app’s real-time protection back on. So the lapse in protection will be on the order of seconds.

  3. Antimalware Service Executable

The most common causes of elevated CPU utilization for the Microsoft Antimalware Engine are undetected malware, and third-party antimalware apps or components:

First, make sure there aren’t any other real-time security apps running on the PC – and also remove any residual AV components by running the clean-up utilities for any previously installed or preinstalled AV apps:

List of anti-malware product removal tools

    Then check for undetected malware:

    Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool:

Free Virus Removal Tool | Free Virus Scanner and Cleaner | Kaspersky

    Emsisoft Emergency Kit:

Emsisoft | Emergency Kit: Free Portable Malware Scan and Removal

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free version only):

Malwarebytes Download - Free Virus Scan & Virus Protection Tool

    Eset Online Scanner:

Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scan from ESET

There’s a longer list of trusted third-party scanners here:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for...-security-questions-best-practices/?p=2413189

Also be aware that every OS update resets the Windows Defender cache of trusted files and requires Defender to rebuild it from scratch. The most noticeable effect is longer scan times, but some of the cache-building work might also be done with background
tasks that elevate the CPU utilization.

If the issue persists, consider replacing Windows Defender with a free third-party AV app. This will disable Windows Defender and prevent the Antimalware Engine from running. Once you've installed a third-party solution, you'll also have the option
of enabling Windows Defender’s Limited Periodic Scanning mode, which will perform automatic Quick Scans and will also allow you to do any other type of on-demand scan. Since Defender’s real-time protection (on-access) will remain disabled with this on-demand
scanning mode, there shouldn’t be any problem with elevated CPU utilization.

  4. Disabled Windows 10, downloaded another AV protection, and 'antimalware service executable'...

How to disable "Antimalware Service Executable" in windows 10 ?

This question is ambiguous when it’s taken out of context, because some people think they should be able to just shut down the antimalware engine without realizing that it’s the core process of Windows Defender – and other people have this high-CPU
issue with Defender after they’ve installed a third-party AV app and want to shut down Defender for that reason. In the latter case, you sometimes have to turn Windows Defender off via Group Policy in order to keep it from interfering with your newly installed
AV app. In the former case, the high CPU utilization is often caused by a conflicting antimalware process, or less often, by a conflicting malware process. In this case you can do a short malware/antimalware cleanup that will either tame down Windows Defender
or pave the way for a clean install of a third-party AV app. I’ve posted a guide that covers both of these scenarios here:
