  1. disabling automatic search when typing in search box

Windows File Explorer is now automatically searching when you start typing in the search box. Previously, it would only search after you pressed enter. However, after the latest update, you cannot disable this feature. Even if you change the radio button selection under folder options, it still does the same thing. This feature is really annoying and provides unnecessary results. When you are not sure what you are looking for and are poking around to fine tune your search, this really becomes evident. It seems to be a waste of processing power and is more fluff to show that something is actual

    Firefox Search Box Text

In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to find the option to disable the browser from showing previously entered text into a search or text box. For example, the User Name box on this forum, I type "O" and OrbitzXT pops up. Other text in other search boxes has been popping up as well. I am using Firefox 3.6, I've tried clearing histories and such and it still remembers text in the boxes. Any ideas how to disable this? I don't see any such option in Tools -> Options.

    Search Question

Which is why I suggested he try there instead. TPU is too limited of a user base to search here alone for anything gaming related.
