I have an issue. My GF and I are PC gamers, and sysmain/CAM still eats into my CPU usage for no reason when running games, idling it out at 100% and crashing them. Whenever I disasble sysmain, it also disables my wifi adapter and internet connection. The adapter/internet comes back up immediately after I turn sysmain back on. Can someone help me figure out how to disable sysmain services without losing my internet? This honestly feels very insidious as sysmain does not work that well. A hard ethernet connector is not an option because our only option here is starlink.

    :)

  2. Capability Access Manager

    Hi Jelani Moonah,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Regarding the random behavior of the Capability Access Manager when recording audio, it's possible that there are underlying factors contributing to this inconsistency. Here are some potential reasons and suggestions to consider:

    1. Resource Availability: The time taken for the Capability Access Manager to appear may be influenced by the availability of system resources. If your system is under heavy load, it could affect the time it takes for the manager to process and display the recorded audio.
      • Suggestion: Try monitoring your system's resource usage (CPU, memory, disk) during the audio recording process to see if there are any spikes or limitations that could be contributing to the delays.
    2. Background Processes: Other background processes running on your computer could potentially impact the performance of the Capability Access Manager and its ability to handle and display the recorded audio in a timely manner.
      • Suggestion: Consider reviewing and minimizing other running applications and background processes while recording audio to see if it affects the appearance time of the Capability Access Manager.
    3. Software or Driver Issues: It's possible that there may be software or driver-related issues affecting the Capability Access Manager's performance. Outdated or incompatible drivers, as well as software conflicts, could lead to unpredictable behavior.
      • Suggestion: Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date and compatible with your operating system. You may also want to consider reinstalling or updating the audio recording software you are using to see if it improves the consistency of the Capability Access Manager's appearance.
    4. System Configuration: Certain system configurations or settings, such as power management settings, might impact the performance of audio recording and the appearance of the Capability Access Manager.
      • Suggestion: Check your power management settings and ensure that they are optimized for performance rather than power saving. You can also review other system settings related to audio recording to ensure they are properly configured.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, if you have any questions, please feel free to leave us a message.

    Best regards

SysMain no activity without internet connection?

    Hello @RoasterMen *Smile
I have not understood SysMain to be an internet specific related task, so what you observe is interesting.

    - - - Updated - - -

I am not suggesting you delete it : Enable or Disable SuperFetch in Windows

    - - - Updated - - -

What are you using to determine that SysMain is active or not? Are you saying SysMain service does not start until you connect to the internet?

    Capability Access Manager preventing sleep

    Hi DMZamora,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    1. Are you aware of any changes made to this computer prior to the issue?
    2. How did you come to know that Capability Access Manager Service is causing the Sleep Mode issue?

The powercfg /requests command will enumerate application and driver Power Requests. Power Requests prevent the computer from automatically powering off the display or entering a low-power sleep mode.

For more information, you may refer Powercfg
    command-line options
    .

The work of the Capability Access Manager Service is to provide facilities for managing Universal Windows Platform apps access to app capabilities as well as checking an app's access to specific app capabilities and this service may not be related
    to the sleep issue.

Meanwhile, try the below methods and check if this helps.

    Method 1:
    Power Troubleshooter.

I suggest you to run the Power Troubleshooter by going to
Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Run the
    Power Troubleshooter.

    Method 2:
Checking The Status Of The Capability Access Manager Service.

You may want to go to Services and check the status of the
Capability Access Manager Service. If this service is in Starting or Stopping state, then please
restart the computer once and check the status again.

    Method 3:
    Deleting The Power Plans.

You can also delete all the existing power plans and create a new power plan and check if you are facing the same issue.

    Method 4:
Manually Putting The Computer In Sleep Mode.

You can manually put the computer in Sleep Mode by click on the
Power Button and check if you are able to do this. For more information, you may refer
Shut down, sleep, or hibernate your PC.

If you are still facing the same issue, then I suggest you to please elaborate on the issue, so that we can understand the concern and reply to us to help you further.

Give it a shot and let us know of any changes.
