  1. Disabling under-prioritization of background tasks in Windows 11

Heya,So, put together a new machine, installed Windows 11, was surprised that under certain circumstances I was having trouble when trying to use VR apps or games. Boiled down the culprit to the way that Windows 11 manages the background tasks.Maybe I'm just not finding my way, but is there a way to completely disable this new functionality that reduces the priority of background apps?I imagine that this might be done with the intent of saving energy as it's definitely not a prioritization of resources, neither CPU nor GPU are at 100%, but it's clearly harming the performance of apps that wo

  2. Background tasks no-longer running

So I've now got my background tasks working again with the help of people at the WPCentral forum. They advised that I uninstall apps that can use background tasks, whether those tasks are enabled or not. The theory is that Windows Phone has some kind of
issue with there being too many apps installed that register the use of background tasks and that disabling the background tasks does not help.

    So here's what I did:

    • Go to settings --> swipe left --> background tasks --> advanced.
    • Make a list of all of the apps installed that can run background tasks.
    • Uninstall as many of those apps as possible. In my case, I had quite a few apps that I actually rarely use.
    • Restart the phone.
That's it. The background tasks for the apps I actually want to be able to run then just started running again. One person in the thread suggested you can also work around the problem by careful configuration of each app to disable background operations
you don't actually want, without having to uninstall them.

For more detail you can see the WPCentral forum thread here:

  3. Windows 7 Club

How do I disable the Experience/Assessment Index tool?

If you want to disable winSAT.exe then do the following:

Step 1. Go to Task Scheduler. You simply type it in the search box.
Step 2. Browse to Microsoft\Windows\Maintenance by clicking on the arrow for Task Scheduler Library folder with the clock on it.
Step 3. Disable the task named WinSAT. Which is found to the right in a small boxed window. Right click on the word WinSAT and select disable.

As for the changing desktop if you want to prevent it from shuffling do the following:
    -right click on desktop
    -click on Personalization
    -click on Desktop Background
    -Uncheck Shuffle
