Windows 10: Disabling users running Proxy Setting Reset on Windows

We're utilizing proxy setting for our network but users are able to issue "Rundll32.exe InetCpl.cpl ResetIEtoDefaults" to bypass the settings. Is there a way in GPO to restrict the users on running this command? Our workstations consist of Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Can't disable manual proxy setting

This issue could occur due to a malicious software may change Windows Internet Explorer proxy settings, and these changes can prevent disabling the Proxy.

You can follow the steps below to disable Proxy on Windows 10:

• Click the Start button, and go to Settings.
• Select Network & Internet.
• Choose Proxy.
• Toggle the option Automatically detect settings to ON.
• Toggle the option Use a proxy server to OFF.

If issue persists, we recommend you to reset the Internet Explorer settings, and try to disable the Proxy again. You can refer to this

Proxy settings are getting enabled automatically

We would suggest you to reset Windows store cache. Please follow these steps:

• Press Windows + R keys to open run window.
• Type the following command in run and press Enter

Command: wsreset.exe

If it does not help, try disabling proxy. Please follow these steps:

• Press Windows + R keys, type inetcpl.cpl in run window and press Enter.
• Click connections tab and then click LAN settings.
• Click to uncheck "Use proxy server for your LAN" box.
• Click ok, apply and ok.
