    Disabling Windows 10 Automatic Updates with Creative Update release


    It appears that Microsoft have changed their policy from 'Anniversary Update' to 'Creators Update'.

    I've carried forward your

    'Windows 10 - Notify before Downloading and Installing Updates'

    fix; however, they now include the message on Settings => Update & Security => Windows Update

    Has this changed between the two updates?

    10 won't allow me to DISABLE automatic updates?

    It's not about the beta,

    Wikipedia, and trustworthy sources right here in this thread, have confirmed that you cannot disable updates, even on the released product after 29th July.

    To sum it up:

    • HOME edition of Windows 10 will FORCE automatic updates on you. There's NO WAY for you to disable this.
    • PRO edition of Windows 10 will allow you to DEFFER updates, up to a maximum of 30 days. There's NO WAY for you to disable automatic-updates completely, and after 30 days of an update being released, there's no way to deffer it any longer, it will FORCE
      INSTALL.
    • ENTERPRISE edition of Windows 10 will allow you to DEFFER updates, up to a maximum of 6 months. There's NO WAY for you to disable automatic-updates completely, and after 6 months of an update being released, there's no way to deffer it any longer, it will
      FORCE INSTALL.
    • Updates marked as "SECURITY" updates, will FORCE INSTALL as soon as available, you CANNOT even deffer these, even on PRO and ENTERPRISE.
    • If this offends you, stay away from Windows 10.

    I suspect that text relates to setting connections as metered. MS's policy has changed on that. Critical updates will be delivered on metered connections.
