Windows 10: Disappearing Settings Menu from Start

    Disappearing Settings Menu from Start


    This morning, I noticed that the "File Explorer" and "Settings" menu items have disappeared from the Start menu.

    I manually typed in "Settings" and pinned it to the Start menu, but it showed up as a tile, which was not my intent. I removed the tile, and both "Settings" and "File Explorer" magically appeared in the Start menu (not as tiles) again.

    What's going on here? Does Windows 10 automatically eliminate menu items from the Start menu if they are not being used often?

    I need help ,once I click setting icon from the start menu it opens for a minutes then it disappears ,even the personalization setting it disappears ,generally all concerning to setting never functions. I need help.

    Lost contacts from the start-up menu on Lumia 520 and Lumia 640 (Microsoft).

    Me again.

    I put once more in my contacts list (and on the start-up menu) the disappeared contacts. This morning two of them have disappeared again, both from the list and start-up menu.

    I use Windows 8.1, by the way!

    I certainly did not do something like erasing or modify some settings.
