    Disc drive doesn't work on Windows 10


    I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 a few months ago. Yesterday the disc drive stopped working. I put in a disc I had made which contained various data, mostly text. When I clicked the D recovery drive nothing happened. In the past I would see a list of the videos on the disk and by clicking one of the items I could play it on Movies and TV. Now that doesn't work. I can play videos that I've downloaded and are in my videos file, but not videos from the disc drive. Anybody got a solution for this? I have an HP Pavilion slimline desktop computer.

    I made a recovery disc for my optiplex 760, upgraded to 10, now my dvd/disc drive doesn't work. how can I fix? flash drive?

    How do I record my recovery disc to a flash drive, since upgrade to 10, disc drive doesn't work

    Win 10 doesn't recognize second Win XP ntfs formatted old data disc (not boot disc)

    After installing Windows 10 on a new solid-state drive, I wanted to connect another drive (an old NTFS formatted disk I used as a data second disc, not boot disc, in work with Windows XP operation system). But Windows 10 doesn't recognize the second disc,
    displays blue screen, runs into search problem solution procedure, with no result. BIOS recognizes the second disc. When I disconnect the second disc, Windows 10 regularly boots-up to the desktop window screen. The second disc works ok when I connect it again
    in the combination with the old Windows XP boot-up disc.

    What I need to do with the second data ntfs disc to be recognized by Windows 10?

    Disc drive doesn't work on Windows 10

    Nothing should happen when accessing the recovery partition except maybe show files on it. Since that partition has a drive letter your ODD/Optical Disc Drive should show as E:, F:, G:, etc. Will it read other discs? ODDs have an annoying habit of dying when least expected, part of that may be due to the heat produced from the laser lens in them.

    Yes, I understand. My E drive has a question mark over it. When I click it I get an error message, "Drive E is not available..."
