Windows 10: Disc size missing from explorer

Up until a few days ago, I could view the size & space available on my "C" drive and external drives by right clicking and looking in properties. Now, all I can see is a panel called "Quota" and "Show Quota Settings" and no other tabs. This also applies if I try to check a SanDisk 120GB USB drive. However I can right click on any folder on the drives and see the sizes OK.

If I click on This PC and click on Tiles tab, it should show the size underneath each drive, but the drive shows up OK but no details of size.

This has only happened just recently. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Sudden increase in Font size everywhere

The font size of icons as well as font size of everything in the file explorer increased suddenly. Its at 100% scaling, but still is larger than usual. I also tried custom scaling
but did not work. The font size in the Apps window, start and tiles is proper but the font size of icon text, folders titles, disc names etc. is bigger than usual. please help

 

adjustable slider for "images" etc in Windows 10 folders.

Trying to adjust the sizes of the images in a Windows Explorer folder on a Windows 10 computer in order to fit more images on a monitor screen, thus allowing less strolling.

This feature used to work in Windows 7

Since the upgrade to Windows 10, have NOT been able to do so.

Anyone who has access to a Windows 7 computer can do the following:-

Open a Windows explorer folder containing IMAGES.

Adjust the size of the IMAGES using the SLIDER.

In Windows 7, the SIZES can be adjusted between (say) "Extra Large" and "Large" or between "Large" and "Medium" or technically (I guess, ... because I don't remember) any SIZE between "Extra Large" and "Details".

This allows (or used to allow) a user to adjust the size of the IMAGES to ANY SIZE in order to fit all (or more or less) IMAGES on ANY size monitor.

This SLIDING scale/adjustment/ability is what's MISSING or seems to be MISSING from Window 10.

Can this feature be activated on a Windows 10 computer?

Is there a "shortcut" that can be used?

Somehow disk quota management has gotten turned on for some or all drives. You can try visiting one of the affected drives, right-clicking, then click on the Quota tab. If you unclick the "Enable quota management" checkbox (this requires an admin level account to manage, BTW) this may take care of this issue right then and there. So please, give it a try and let us know what happens.

The "Enable quota management is already unticked. I tried ticking and then unticking again but still same problem.

 

Very strange. Perhaps another, more knowledgeable member can suggest ways to look further into this in the registry. Funny that quota should come up at all, if it's not turned on ... unless you're in an AD domain and are subject to quota policies from your IT department. If that's a possibility, you might want to ask them...

The top 5 in your list are missing as also is Sharing.

Should I add the missing ones? If so do I do it through regedit or is there a repair method?

If you have another Win 10 PC. You can export it then import into this PC. If not, use mine.
double click to merge. May have to reboot.

This has solved the problem and all is back to normal. Not only has it restored my disc info but also my faith in these forums!
