    Disconnecting Power Supply changes Screen Resolution on games


    Hi,I have been searching for a very long time for an answer to this question, but sadly I never found one. Each time I disconnect or connect the charger to my laptop and my games are still on, their resolution changes. I would like to know how to stop that so I can disconnect the charge, move the laptop and reconnect the charge without any resolution changing. The reason is that each game glitches when it happens; some actually crash and close, some just like become smaller within the window's resolution, etc...Please I need help! I have tried to look over the power settings, but there is no m

    Hello,

    Firstly, try to install all the available Windows Updates and check if it fixes the issue.

    I suggest you to change the screen resolution settings and check if it fixes the issue. Follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key and type Change Screen Resolution and click on the option listed.
    • Under resolution try changing the resolution settings.

    Also try to install the latest drivers from the manufacturer website and check.

    To get better clarity on the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Have you installed any software or programs on your computer prior to this issue?
    • What was the last thing you have done on your computer before this issue happened?
    Since this issue occurs every time you connect or disconnect the computer to the power supply, we suggest you run the Power troubleshooter. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • On the Start menu, type Troubleshooting.
    • On the left-side, click View all.
    • Select Power and run the troubleshooter.
    If the issue persists, then probably the issue is with a faulty driver. Kindly installed the latest chipset driver for your computer. For better assistance on installing the right driver, we suggest you to contact your PC manufacturer.

    I understand that you have a few doubts regarding your Windows 10 screen resolution. Let me help you.




    • Do you see any error message or error code on the screen?

    • What is the model of your computer?

    • Are you able to access the modern apps?


    I suggest you to update the Display Adapter Drivers

    Step 1: Update the Display Adapter driver.

    • Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapter.
    • Right on the Display Adapter and click on
      Update driver software.

    Step 2: Please follow the below steps to change the resolution of the screen and check:

    • Type Change screen resolution in the
      Search
      box from the desktop.
    • Under Resolution search for the Recommended resolution and click on
      Apply.
    • A windows pops up saying "Keep these display settings", then select
      Keep changes.
