Windows 10: Discord causing fps drops ONLY when in a discord call

I never had this problem before, but lately I noticed that being in a Discord call makes my game's FPS drop. My overlay is disabled, and whether Hardware Acceleration is on or off, it doesn’t seem to make any difference. What should I try? Never done this before and I'm seeing other people complaining about the same problem

Discord and only Discord notifications not showing banner

Hello, I had the same program causing discord to not send banners as Mohammed above. The clean boot fixed the notifications but now discord doesn't start on startup and I don't see it in the list of startup programs.

EDIT: Had to re-enable NVIDIA LocalSystem Container for GeForce Experience to work, But it hides discord notifications. Any fix?

 

Only Discord Call audio is playing (sometimes)

1. Check the Discord settings:
   
   • Make sure that the correct audio input and output devices are selected in Discord settings. Sometimes, the wrong devices can cause audio issues.
     
   • If you're using Discord overlay, try disabling it to see if it's causing any conflicts with the audio.
     
2. Update Audio Drivers: Ensure that your audio drivers are up-to-date. Outdated or corrupt drivers can lead to various audio problems.
   
3. Check for Discord Updates: Make sure that Discord is updated to the latest version. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can resolve audio issues.
   
4. Check Other Applications: Ensure that no other applications are using your audio devices simultaneously, as this can cause conflicts.

I understand that you are facing issues in downloading Discord app on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

• What is the complete error message that you receive when you try to install Discord?
  

• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer
  Which version of Windows operating system am I running?
  

If you are using an anti-virus, I would suggest you to disable it temporarily and check.



Note: If you disable the security software or firewall, the system might be temporarily exposed to security threats and risks. Please make sure to turn it on after performing the steps.



If disabling the anti-virus doesn’t help, we can perform a Clean Boot on the computer.



Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer.
However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.



To perform a clean boot on the computer refer to the article How to perform a
clean boot in Windows.



If performing a clean boot fixes the issue then, please refer to the section
How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot
to check which program is causing the issue.



Note: Please refer the section Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting
to boot the computer in to normal mode after troubleshooting.



If Clean Boot doesn’t work, we can create a new user account and check.

You can also try removing the left over files of Discord by following the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Window logo key + R to open Run window.
   
2. Type %appdata% and press
   Enter.
   
3. From the path that will open delete the %AppData%/Discord and %LocalAppData%/Discord folders.
   
4. Restart your computer in the end.
