Windows 10: Disk 100% full bug in Windows 10

So, when is Microsoft going to fix this or bring out a new version of Windows 10 or higher? It would even be less irritating if there was a proper acknowledgement from Microsoft that this is a genuine issue.


I've tried all the tatty solutions that are plastered all over the internet - I'm clearly not alone in this. Message boards in this community show that too. I smell a rat with the Recovery (D) drive, which is almost full and think that's what is causing the issue but I don't know what to do about it even if I'm right.


Oh, and this has affected my last 2 machines, both of which run on Windows 10. I don't have a virus or malware, I don't have unnecessary background programmes running and I have the vast majority of my disk space still available to me. But heaven forbid that I leave my computer on but unattended, with items open, for longer than half an hour, because that's a signal for everything to stop responding. By 'everything' I mean whichever browser I'm trying to use, and any/all Microsoft Office products. And how dare I hope to switch the thing on in the morning and expect it to boot up straight away! Nope - I've learned to switch on, go make tea, then show any amount of patience as I attempt to open Excel, Word or a browser. I would just like not to have to waste up to half an hour or more a day waiting until the task manager decides my disk isn't full after all.


I don't have dozens of windows open at once. I don't work with massive files. Oh, and no, I'm not going to reinstall stuff or install different stuff, or pay Microsoft help to provide some wide-eyed diagnosis when we all know what the problem is. I want my perfectly decent, year-old HP laptop to just work, please. Just as I wanted the same from my previous Toshiba.


I want a version of Windows that does what it's supposed to do. Work.

Disk is always at 100%

Some bugs or disk drive errors may cause high disk utilization. If your task manager shows 100% disk utilization, you may need to optimize Windows by following these troubleshooting methods:

Disable Windows Search

Some bug in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 causes some "search loop" that causes maximum utilization of your disk. To disable
Windows Search, kindly follow these steps:

• Press Windows + R to open Run.
• Type services.msc and press Enter.
• Scroll down to find Windows Search, right-click it, and select
  Properties.
• Change the Startup type to Disabled and save the changes.

Disable Superfetch Service

Superfetch service has been identified as a possible cause of 100% disk utilization on Windows 10. To disable Superfetch service, kindly follow these steps:

• Press Windows + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type net.exe stop superfetch and press Enter.
• Wait for a minute for the changes to apply and close the Command Prompt.

Your post is not explicit - what 100% disk bug?

 

100% disk usage bug - tried everything online - FIX DATE please ???!!

OS: Windows 10

Issue: 100% disk usage bringing down my whole system perfomance

Workaround: NONE are working ( tried more than 40 suggestions including Microsoft one)

Requirement:
