In truth, no, Disk Cleanup will not remove as much as CCleaner, it will remove all files that are safe to remove form your system if run twice as explained below. Disk Cleanup is however very safe . . .

CCleaner has been bought out by Avast and while it is a good tool, there are parts of it that are ill-advised to use, like the registry cleaner . . .

Open File Explorer

Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

This time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

CCleaner vs Disk Cleanup

Hello,

I previously had CCleaner on my PC and then I removed it. Does Disk Cleanup do as much of a thorough job (removing unneeded DLL’s, etc.) as CCleaner does?
