Windows 10: Disk Cleanup vs CCleaner and Auslogics Defrag. What is reccomended?

Hi,

Until now I've been using CCleaner and Auslogics Disk Defrag to keep my computer performance and health good, but are these programs really necessary when there is Windows 10's own Disk Cleanup Tool?

What do you do to keep your computer running at peak performance?

I have run disk cleanup numerous times, CCleaner, defraged the disk and windows update troubleshooter. Nothing is working

 

I can not defrag my /:C disc because im not administrator?

The administrative tools still dont help me with my problem since system tells me im not an admin again.

I defragmented my D with Auslogic Disc Defragment, and yes, i do regular Disc Cleanup on drives.

 

Hi, you shouldn't need to worry about defragmenting these days.

Ccleaner is useful given it is configurable; I run it before creating my next disk image. (I suppose in one sense you could regard that as a risk).

I've never used its registry cleaner, nor do I use any such.

I make sure that when idle my resource use (CPU, disk, internet) is minimal or zero.

Despite having quite a few startups and a lot of programs installed, I can't remember experiencing decreased performance with time.

When uninstalling programs, I do use Geek uninstaller (Revo would be fine too) to remove items left by the program's own uninstaller.

 

Windows 10's own Disk Cleanup cleans Windows.
CCleaner cleans browsers and also some system stuff.
Auslogics Disk Defrag is usefull, if you want to be in control.

I use Windows Defrag at boot, as for cleanup: DiskCleanup, Ccleaner, WiseDiskCleaner, DriverStoreExplorer.

I use CCleaner because it removes Nvidia installation files and other stuff that disk cleanup don't remove. I don't use any registry cleaners and to TRIM my SSD I use Microsoft Defragment and optimize tool and for uninstalling apps etc I use Revo uninstaller PRO.

Defrag isn't needed anymore, Window is perfectly capable of doing that.

I use Ccleaner for maintenance with the startup, browser plugin and keeping track of temp files.

 

Ccleaner is pretty good for uninstalling a lot of the unwanted stuff that Windows 10 carries with it. Not everything. Nothing seems to be able to shift the 3D crud or the mixed reality portal.
