Windows 10: Disk Format error while installing Windows 10

So I was trying to install from Ubuntu to Windows 10 I created a bootable USB flash and started the setup. When I was in disk part I formated that drive I needed to install Windows but when I trying to proceed the setup and then I saw an error that my disk was using MBR format but I needed GPT format. Can someone help me out?

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Windows 10 formatting ?

We upgraded windows 7 to 10. Many crashes and errors after that. So a format and clean install of windows 10. Activated automatically. Zero issues and no more crashes etc etc.
So I'm inclined to say to just go for it. And if a problem, then use your windows 7 key.

 

Created bootable USB-can’t install /format destination disk

You have to delete the partitions (step 13 in the tutorial below); you do not/can not install Windows into an existing partition. It is installed to unallocated space- it could create several partitions.

You could choose to format your disk before you start if you wished.
Note the format option shown in the screenshot at step 13.
