Windows 10: Disk full error message when trying to save a file

Hi,
I have the following error message when I try to save a (any) file:



According to File Explorer, I have 463 GB HD and 173 GB is free.
The disk management has the following information:




Please help me find out what eats up my HD. Thank you.

All Office Documents are Read Only and Will not allow edits

Since my update to Windows 10, all my Office documents have become read only and will not allow me to edit and save the documents. I get an error message.

"Word cannot create or save this file. Make sure the disk you want to save the file on is not full, write protected, or damage."

I am set up as the administrator for my laptop.

I also always get an error message when I move a document to my folder:

"You will need to provide administrator permission to move to this folder"

There is a button "Continue" that I click on that will allow the move. But I sure would like to skip this whole error message.

Hi have you checked if your 920 memory is full via the Settings > Phone Storage to ensure that your 920 has got enough memory? Otherwise, have you checked your car stereo itself (is it a model that has built-in flash storage or hard drive storage) for
its memory capacity?

 

Control Panel, System and Security, System. Select System Protection from left hand menu, click on Configure. Check that Max Usage is not set to 100%. Normal is around 10GB. If set higher decrease it to 10GB.

 

I checked and it was set to 5%.

 

As it appears the file becomes read only while I'm editing it. Any idea why?

 

The application wihch is producing the file is not being run as an administrator and therefore will only create a read only file. You need to be logged on with the same user account from which the application was installed. Windows should cough up a UAC box to allow you to run the app as admin even though you might be running it from a different account but some applications might not use that permissions level themselves.

 

It is the files generated by Qt. I installed the program from the same user account I'm using right now and it is an administrative account.

 

I have no idea what Qt is. Like I say, some applications do not set permissions right. Did you install it as an admin? If not that could be the problem.

 

Unfortunately I'm not sure how I installed it. Probably I have to reinstall it.
