Windows 10: Disk Management Refresh Says "The remote procedure call failed"

Discus and support Disk Management Refresh Says "The remote procedure call failed" in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; None of my removable drives show up. This just started happening.     Disk Management Refresh Says "The remote procedure call failed"


    None of my removable drives show up. This just started happening. There was also a Windows update at the same time.I have:Windows 10 Pro19044.2251RPCSS says it is running with startup type automatic.RPC locator is set to manual, and apparently not running.My removable drive shows up in both device manager and in Disk Management, but not in explorer. In another PC it works fine. The size is known to disk manager. If I try to assign a drive letter, I am told to refresh. If I refresh, I get the RPC error.

    Hi,

    To help resolve your concern, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
    • Type services.msc and hit enter.
    • Look for "Remote Procedure Call" and make sure that the status says "Started".
    • Right-click on "Remote Procedure Call" and choose Properties.
    • Under Startup type, select Automatic.
    • Click Start, Apply, and hit OK.
    • On the Second "Remote Procedure Call (RPC Locator)", set it to
      Manual.
    • Restart your computer.
