Hi there,This is a multi-faceted problem that I'm trying to troubleshoot on a new build with Win11. Any help or assistance would be fantastic - with a big thank you in advance. To start I've already confirmed with the motherboard creator MSI that the problems I'm having aren't a Motherboard related issue - I was working up the chain of command as it were but wanted to include that I've gone looking for help there with no findings. SO I have technically 3 problems, but I'm viewing them as 1 or 2 since they all seem related. #1 - My secondary NVMe drive is seen in BIOS, it's seen on Device Mana

  2. Disk Management for External SSD drive

I bought a Samsung 500 GB SSD T5 and I'd like to use it without the Samsung app, just as an external drive. Disk management shows it as a 42 MB partition. I'd like to delete this partition and reclaim the rest of my 500 GBs but nothing I do will allow
this. Is this an issue with the drive interface being locked to prevent this use?

    Any suggestions?

How can I change the disk number of NVME SSD (Boot) to DISK-0 in Disk Management in Windows 11?

    HI,

I have my OS installed on NVME SSD (physically installed on motherboard) and other drives are connected using SATA cables. But for some reason, the boot drive (NVME SSD) always shows DISK 5 (Last Disk) in disk management.

So far on the forums, people suggest to switch ports but I have only one NVME SSD port on my motherboard.

Also, I tried to boot pc just with boot drive and disconnected all other drive. Then it showed my boot drive as DISK 0 but as soon as I connect other drives, it again goes to last.

    What should I do?

PCIe SSD Drive showing in Bios, but not showing in Disk Management

    Hello, Samuel Bastable

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, but there are a few more things you can try.

First, make sure that the PCIe SSD is properly seated in the slot. Sometimes a loose connection can cause it to be recognized in the BIOS but not in Windows.

Next, try checking if the drive is recognized in Device Manager (You can search it in Windows search bar). If it's listed there, you may need to assign a drive letter to it in Disk Management. If that doesn't work, you can try updating the firmware on the SSD. Crucial may have a firmware update available that could help resolve compatibility issues.

If none of these steps work, it might be worth reaching out to Crucial support when they're available again. It's possible that they may have additional troubleshooting steps or a replacement drive if yours is defective.
