Windows 10: Disk performance show 0% all the time in Task Manager

Hi everyone

I'm facing a problem with the task manager. Suddenly both of my HDs stopped showing any activity in the task manager and are constantly show 0% although there is activity and despite the fact that in the resource monitor activity is shown properly. Any ideas what the fault might be?

I think they've stopped after I connected an external HD. But I am not sure though so don't rely on that being the issue.

Task Manager Screen Frozen. Not moving.

Task Manager screen itself is frozen.

When I press Ctrl + Alt +Delete, task manager screen opens. Then on processes page, it shows CPU, Memory, Disk & Network. We can see how much % of each category is being used at that time, so this is supposed to be changing all the time. (At least to my
knowledge)

But it doesn't move. Currently it shows CPU 14%, Memory 40%, Disk 0%, Network 0%. And nothing changes at all. I go to "Details" and I see list of programs, but none of these change numbers either.

It's like looking at a picture frame in task manager screen.

What could be causing this??

 

Disk running at 100% all the time. Processes in Task Manager don't add up.

But why is the "Performance" tab in Task Manager showing the wrong percentages?

I currently only have one user on my laptop. Under the "Users" tab in Task Manager it says that "Isaac" is using 0% of the disk and yet at the top it says "Disk 100%".

Is this a bug? How do I check what is actually using the disk?

It's taking forever just to write this comment because it keeps freezing up.

 

I've found the solution fellas. I accidentally in "Update Speed", changed to "Paused" *Doh
