Windows 10: Disk scan then attempt to restore then stuck at fixing errors.

SSD HD working fine till a month ago when I installed 1809. had a system crash, BCD error which I fixed using various Command prompts. Then a week or so later on boot I saw "Scanning and fixing disk" Then system seemed OK

Few days later it would not boot. System restore would not work as there was some permission not available. wiped the partitions and did fresh install of 1809. Things worked for a couple weeks (after spending two days re-installing all my programs, Then another crash.


Again installed 1809. Ran a couple of hard drive scans which reported no problems. Again spent many hours re-installing all my programs. PC worked fine for 10 hours today thenafter shutting down I turned on a couple hours later. Got the Disk Scan message then it looked like it would boot with wirling dots then blue screen message The System will restore. It started and 2 hours later it is still"repairing " the system.


I have some very critical work I must do. Luckily I have important files on separate HD so have not lost 8 hours work from today.


What is the problem?

Error scanning a 2TB disk

Guess how long it takes to error scanning a 2TB disk!

just slided a Samsung EcoGreen F3 5400rpm 2TB harddrive into a hotswap bay and started error scan, so after a while i ended up with this time, btw am putting it in a quarantine for a while so only low important stuff will be on it so no important backups hehe

Disk Boot Failure, Attempting to restore EFI partition


So I've attempted the steps @dalchina suggested but it seems that Macrium Reflect can no longer "see" my Windows partition on my SSD drive. I am able to run Power Disk Recovery (should I be using something different?) and find what looks to be my Windows partition but I'm not sure if this is the best way to go about restoring my original boot partition - if indeed this is even advisable.

Is there a better way to rescue my old Win10 boot partition?

I'm also considering RMA'ing my SSD drive but would like to run a diagnostic on the drive itself first...

Is there a utility on Kyhi's Recovery Disk (HDDScan?) that will do this?

 

System restore got stuck

• What was the exact issue that you were facing that lead to perform restore?
• Did you receive any error message, when the system restore got stuck?
• Did you install any third party security application?

Since the computer is being stuck, I suggest you to restart the computer and try to perform the restore again and check if it helps.

I also suggest you to provide more information regarding the issue which led to perform system restore along with the make and model of the computer.
