Windows 10: Disk space uses is 100% and performance of PC has degraded.

Hi


I m facing issue of slowness in my system. In task manger disk uses is consistently 100%.

I have also put my PC on disk checking but it is usually stuck at around 30% . Also I have restored my PC to restore point.

But disk uses is still around 99-100%.


Please help !!

To help us identify the cause of the issue and then find the proper resolution for it, let us know if there were any changes made on the PC prior to the issue.

Since the steps you have taken didn't help, here are a few suggestions that you can try to resolve Windows 10 high disk usage issue:

Disable the Superfetch service.

This service is built to improve PC performance by speeding up the startup of programs and pre-loading the apps you often use into memory. If you don't do anything after powering on, it will still take up high percentage of the disk. To disable the Superfetch
service, follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Expand Services and Applications on the left column and click on
  Services.
  
• 
  Navigate to Superfetch and double-click on it, and then select
  Disable from the drop-down menu of Startup type.
  

Update the AHCI driver.

Outdated AHCI driver will affect the system performance and result in 100% disk usage in Windows 10. Furthermore, outdated, missing or broken drivers can also cause other issues like Bluetooth not working, PC not waking up from sleep, etc.

I update all my driver with driver easy software. I disable superfetch service from the services. some how Disk uage problem solve and now CPU usage becomes 100% and which can degraded my system performance

Try to run theSystem Maintenance Troubleshooter.

  Press Windows key + W and type
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select view all on the top left corner.
  
• 
  Click System Maintenance,
  follow onscreen instructions.
  

I suggest you to run Check Disk which performs an analysis of the disk. Refer to the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click on Command prompt (Admin).
• Type chkdsk /f and hit enter.
