  1. Disk Space

I believe I posted a question similar to this, but this is really just to find out how to fix the problem and to see if my ideas work or if they work or not. Anyways, I currently have 500 or so MB left on my built in drive. That's 500 out of 30GB. I barely do anything on my computer since I'm busy with other stuff, the most I do is watch YouTube or read online books, or even play a browser game for an hour or two. With this in mind, I have no idea where my space is going. All I know is that the leftover space I have left is too low amount for me to be doing the listed things I've mentioned. It takes around 10 seconds to open a browser, and it takes a even more to open a new tab. I looked up how to solve this issue, and from what I gather, I could go to the Run application and go to prefetch or my temp files and delete those for a couple of MB. I could also use Disk Cleanup to clean up my computer, but that only gives me 300 more at max, which is still not enough for a decent browsing experience. I even went as far to go into the files my self, and try deleting things that may not be useful or needed to my computer. I have no idea if that did anything to the computer, but it still doesn't give much space. I need some other tips than what I've tried so far, or tips on what I've tried so far and what I may have done wrong. Should I download a free PC cleaner? I don't really trust those, and I don't really have much money to spare on a $20 one. I mainly think it's the system files taking up the majority of the space, or the Windows updates. If All of that takes up like 90 percent of my disk space, then it's not worth having a computer at all if it causes it to run at a snail's pace.

    :)

      Enter.
    • Select Storage and click on Disk Management.

    hard disk space

    Hello,

Taking into consideration that the free space is shrinking fast, it is possible that your system is creating restore points. To
delete restore points except for the recent one, simply follow the steps below:

    • From the Cortana search box, type Disk Cleanup and click on the first result.
    • Once the Disk Cleanup window appears, select the
      More Options
      tab.
    • Under the System Restore and Shadow Copies column, click on the
      Clean up... button.

Once done with the steps, see if your disk space has expanded.

If you have further questions, please let us know.
