    Disk usage at 100% at write speeds of 100 kb/s 1 week after changing SSD


    Reinstalled windows 10, transferred old files, via OneDrive, everything was normal for 1 week. Now the disk usage is at 100 % all the time, with 100 kb/s transfer speed. Just opening a folder takes 40 seconds. Initialization is fast, with high transfer speeds, but after, it goes to 100 kb/s, and it's unworkable. I changed back to the old SSD and everything is normal. The problem is with the SSD, or I need to configure something? The new SSD had a new Windows installation.

    100% Disk Usage on Windows 10

    Laptop 1: Dell with Toshiba HDD that's 5 yrs old. The 100 disk usage issue started last week.

    Laptop 2: HP with a SSD, that's 3 yrs old. 100 disk usage issue started last year.

    Disk Usage at 100%

    When this issue occurs, the task manager will report disk usage at 100%, however no task will be doing more than a few KB/s of reads/writes.

    My Disk 1 is constantly making my fans go crazy and I also notice that it has been at 100% usage. This is preventing me from opening games and other software in that drive like Steam. I also notice that the read and write speed stay at 0 while it is at 100% usage. Task Manager even crashes sometimes.
