Windows 10: Disk usage at 100 percent after trying everything

    Disk usage at 100 percent after trying everything


    My computer is running sluggish, and when I open task manager, it says the disk usage is at 100 percent constantly.

    I have tried the following:
    Disabled windows search
    Disabled superfetch
    Disabled Windows Defender
    Reinstalled windows twice
    Formatted my harddrive
    Run Short Disk Self Test - It says failed
    Installed a brand new hard drive, another fresh install of windows: same problem (if not slight improvement), fails the Disk Self Test still
    Disabled MSI interrupt per this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3083595/task-manager-might-show-100-disk-utilization-on-windows-10-devices-wit
    Set registry values for Prefetch and Superfetch to 1 (from 3) - this dropped my disk usage from constant 100% to constant 90-99%
    Dismantled laptop to look for faulty HDD connection - all looks fine
    Updated all drivers
    Checked BIOS is up to date
    Run Windows Memory Diagnostics - tells me no problems found
    Boot into safe mode - problem does not seem to occur during this
    Uninstalled third party antivirus, firewall, and malware software

    AND STILL I have this problem

    Is there anything else I can try? This is driving me nuts.

    Hey

    Thank you for the reply,but your suggestion proved no use to me still the disk usage remains 100 percent and my system lags in performance.

    100 percent disk usage

    often my new laptop freezes because of 100 percent disk usage and even the transfer rate within local hard disk is significantly low when compared to other i7 processors. i am not sure whether it is because of the windows 10 os or some other problem. can
    anyone help me to figure out what the exact solution for this problem.
