    disk usage goes up to 100% even for small processes?


    There are already many questions , answers and discussions about this, but non of them seems to be able to find solution to fix this bug. In my case I have windows 10 20H2 running on HP notebook with i3 7100u 8gb ram and 1tb TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100that's what device manager shows. the device driver is up to date running properly. It seems that whenever any process starts using hard disk the task manager shows usage of 100% and whole computer slows down until the process completes for example here is windows update installation going on in background

    I tried these solutions I found on internet:

    1. performing System Restart
    2. running Malware scan
    3. disabling windows search
    4. disabling superfetch
    5. disabling antivirusI had to uninstall it to stop the background scans
    6. resetting virtual memory
    7. running check disc scan
    8. ending background tasksdisabled most of them chrome, skype, onedrive
    9. full memory diagnostics

    How can I fix the 100% Disk Usage bug on Windows10 after trying - Microsoft Community and every suggestion in this thread

    When is this bug going to get fix because it is causing normal tasks take lot of time plus the computer startup is slower

    than it used to and that is really frustrating!

    Disk Usage at 100% with nothing running

    My PC is running Windows 10 with the latest updates but has suddenly become unusable with disk usage staying at 100% even with nothing running and just the same processes listed in Task Manager as before the problems
    started. I've tried a few suggestions found in online forums - disabling Windows Search and Superfetch, adjusting page file size, etc. but nothing has done the trick yet. I don't have any outside anti-virus software installed. I read about the potential MSI
    issue but don't have IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers listed in the Device Manager. Finally, it seems to boot up normally and will have periods where the disk usage drops and it's usable but those moments are brief and it inevitably goes back up to 100% usage.

    100% Disk usage ongoing

    Everytime I turn on my computer disk usage goes to 100% for a few minutes, sometimes a long while. Windows Defender finds no virus, all definitions are current, and there is no history of potentially harmful items detected. 100% disk usage problem began
    about a month or two ago. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
