    Almost always 'System'.

    How do I fix this? It's infuriating.

    Windows 10 - 100% Disk Usage in Device Manager

    I did the suggested method above but unfortunately to no avail. So I decided to do a factory reset, and get everything off.

    Once I did the initial set up, I found that the disk usage is still 100%, noting "SuperFetch" was the notable culprit. So I disabled and rebooted, and still 100%. This time noting the
    OneDrive - so I uninstalled that, and rebooted.

    And now its fine! Whether OneDrive was the original culprit I will never know, but for now, its fine. I've noticed it hover to 40%, but now its between 0-5% so this will hopefully resume.

    Just for reference, when should I be worried about the disk usage. 100% obvious, but is 40% safe to run at for long periods?

    high disk usage on startup (windows 10)

    When uninstalling Avast, my computers start up was a lot faster but i was still on 100% disk usage, but only this time it didn't stay 100% as long. On the processes for disk usage, Razer Synapse was the next big process which at one point used 10,000,000
    Total (B/sec) then started to drop.

    System File Check
    Please try following:
    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again
    If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at %systemroot%\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
    System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

    Make a photo of SFC and post it.
