Windows 10: DISM and VSS

Discus and support DISM and VSS in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; DISM stopped around 60% scan. When I checked Event Viewer, 2 messages appeared. Beyond me.     DISM and VSS


    DISM stopped around 60% scan. When I checked Event Viewer, 2 messages appeared. Beyond me. Did PC restart, and immediate message was "Updates underway. Do not switch off computer". This remained on screen for ages, so I ignored instruction, and switched off.Computer restarted, no problem. No updates showing, and all ok there.Can anyone throw a light on what is happening, please?Screen shots below show VSS messages.

    Otherwise I suggest- assuming your disk and file system are sound-
    an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs, data and most settings

    You need an iso of the same base language and build- freely downloadable.

    How to get damn DISM to work?

    Thx guys, I'll compress this data into a blog post. For all the so called guides I've read, not a single one mentioned it has to be WIM file (some listed even ESD which clearly doesn't work) or that certain ISO images don't work with DISM.

    After I've done DISM thingie, SFC also managed to repair stuff. Which is what I've needed here.

    Programs not working

    In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
    Are you able to follow them?
    In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
